Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 August 2026

Jasper does not collect your personal information. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of ours that holds your financial data. This page explains what that means precisely, including the one network request the app does make.

What we collect

Nothing. Jasper has no user accounts, no sign-in, no telemetry and no analytics or advertising software of any kind. We do not receive your name, your email, your device identifier, your location, your contacts, or anything you enter into the app.

Where your financial data lives

Everything you record — accounts, balances, transactions, recurring rules, budgets, goals and closed months — is written to a database stored in Jasper's own storage on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere. It is not backed up to our servers, because we do not operate any.

Your data may be included in your device's own backups (iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup) if you have those enabled. Those backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours, and we have no access to them.

The one network request

When Jasper launches, it checks whether a newer version of the app's code has been published. This request goes to Expo's update service at u.expo.dev and contains the app version, the platform (iOS), and an identifier for which build of the app is installed.

It does not contain any of your financial data, nor anything that identifies you personally. Expo's handling of that request is covered by Expo's privacy policy. If no update is available, or the device is offline, the app carries on working exactly as normal — Jasper is fully usable with no internet connection at all.

Purchases

Jasper Plus is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app records only whether the unlock has been made, and that record is stored on your device. Apple's handling of the transaction is covered by their privacy policy.

Sharing your data

We have no data about you to share, sell, or disclose — to advertisers, to data brokers, to anyone. If we were ever compelled to hand over user data, we would have nothing to hand over.

Exporting and deleting

Jasper can export every table of your data to a plain CSV file, which you can save or send wherever you like. That file is yours; once it leaves the app it is outside our control and outside Jasper's.

To delete everything, either use Start Over in the app's settings, or delete the app from your device. Deleting the app removes its database with it. Because we hold no copy, this is permanent and cannot be reversed by us — export first if you want to keep anything.

Children

Jasper is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever begins collecting data — it has no plans to — this page will be updated before that change ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
